"Zine making means people who take their own space to spread self expression and build new bonds of communication. Reading zines means: get inspired, educated, motivated… I love the sensation across my stomach when I sit to write a zine and I love to feel impatient making it and to know there are people from different parts of the world waiting to read my zine. I love to get in tough with new people, share information, stories, stuff, ideas and interview bands & artists I admire so much! The most radical aspect is the great underground artistic, political, literature, musical revolution we are building." -Veruska

Hot damn! I knew she was really cool when I found out she was the DJ and creator of Quuenbee, a pirate anarcha feminist radio show where she discusses great topics and plays really cool grrrl and queer core punk. My impression of her was further won over when I received a copy of her spoken word tape, Die Bitch in the mail that poignantly paints mental pictures of her views of feminist politics. Everybody should meet Veruska, the lady who puts out, as far as I'm concerned, one of the most progressive zines in terms of addressing queer and gender politics, history, music, and the arts. She covers a wide gamut of issues from literature (her review of Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg) to artists like "gender terrorist" Del LaGrace Volcano that have given me so many avenues to explore as a bisexual who's very much interested in zines that cover queer issues along with artistic creation. What's so cool about Clit Rocket is its simple cut and paste layout design that gives this zine such a personal edge. It's like you're getting a self made collage of the artist's (since I consider making zines an art form) interests and passions. To receive a copy of Clit Rocket, email Veruska at clitrocket@hotmail.com Veruska's interview on Grrrl Zine Network is definitely worth the read as she covers her views of feminist and queer politics, zine making, and life in general. I even got the pleasure of interviewing her for my last issue of Digress (Issue 4). You can e-mail me to get your hands on a free copy.
